Senior Medical Oncology Advisor

Job Description

As part of the Medical and Business Development team, the Senior Medical Oncology Advisor acts as both a Scientific and Medical Advisor to Paradigm regarding development of our products and services. This is a part-time consulting position and may range from a couple hours to a maximum 1-2 days per week based.

Responsibilities include:

Business development through community outreach and medical education including assisting on sponsored research opportunities, speaking engagements, medical advisory programs, contributing to collaborative development and associated contracts for technology development, and projects that support the medical community to advance and enhance Personalized Medicine, genomic testing, and BioPharma clinical trials.

Essential Functions:

  • Board Certified Medical Oncologist (M.D. / M.D., Ph.D.)
  • Assists Paradigm and our clients in clinical trials and research strategies
  • Provides expertise and input into the product development, operations, and sales of molecular diagnostics. Understands genomic reporting, and correlations regarding test findings translating into a logical sequence of therapies.  Makes recommendations and provides expert opinions regarding the processes of clinical testing. Recommends new avenues for patient testing and patient care.
  • Assists in oncology decision making
  • Assists in development and execution of Medical / Scientific Advisory Boards
  • Communicates and provides feedback to the medical community on behalf of the Company and its tests. Helps to further the acceptance and usage of genomic testing and fostering the understanding of the benefits of such testing.
  • Helps develop and provide insights for the Paradigm Clinical registry.
  • Attends Scientific meetings involving the potential clinical decision making or the application of information that will impact potential patient care and provides analysis and advisement.
  • May attend precision medicine tumor boards as needed to give input to the attending physicians and to bring back information and possible corrections regarding a particular institution’s use of the Paradigm PCDx test.
  • May read evidence materials and attend evidence calls as part of a scientific advisory team.  Ventures professional opinions regarding the clinical correlative application and acceptance of biomarkers to the prediction of clinical benefit and toxicity of pharmacological agents for the treatment of patients with solid tumors.
  • May require travel

Job Description:

The Regional Sales Director is a field-based sales position that is responsible for the promotion, sales and continuous support of Paradigm’s Next-Generation Sequencing tumor profiling service (PCDx) while achieving sales goals in a compliant manner. We are looking to fill multiple positions in multiple regions, including Southwest, Southeast, and East

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with oncologists, surgeons, pathologists and health care professionals in offices, hospitals and clinics to promote and support Paradigm’s PCDx service offering.
  • Provide approved messaging and product information to key decision makers and stakeholders within the oncology setting
  • Demonstrates effective territory management and selling competencies
  • Appropriately address customer needs and deliver on sales targets
  • Maintain high knowledge levels of product, competitor and market information
  • Develop ongoing business plans for the territory
  • Complete timely and accurate administrative tasks including call reporting, expense reporting, compliance submissions
  • Represent Paradigm in a professional, compliant, ethical and effective manner

Desired Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS Degree Required
  • 4 years prior successful oncology sales experience in BioPharma / MolDx
  • Established oncology relationships
  • Understanding of solid tumors & targeted therapies
  • Previous experience selling in a hospital environment a plus
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with doctors, nurses and medical staff
  • Ability to operate in a fast moving entrepreneurial environment
  • Strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrate integrity, flexibility, and strong work ethic
  • Travel required and may include overnights within assigned territory
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license that is in good standing with the State in which it was issued
